Stage data for ingestion

The ingestions process minimizes user input and recognizes values in the existing folder structure.

To begin the ingestions process:

Organize the source data into at least two consistent folder levels. One of these levels must be Custodian.

Note: The folder levels must match the folder structure selected in the Default Settings window. For more information, see Configure default ingestion settings.

The following figure shows sample folder levels arranged by Evidence ID (e01), Media ID (media0001), and Custodian (CBingley, EBennet, and so on).

Stage the data in the ingest folder on the agent server.

Prior to uploading into the application, place your data in an archive file in a .zip, .rar, .7z, .tar, or tar.gz format. You can also upload multipart archive files if the files are in the .zip or .rar format.
