Set search preferences

You can customize preferences for searches, including whether to display threaded documents, attachments with source documents, renditions, or line numbers in your search results. The application applies your preferences to all future searches. The options available to you depend on the permissions set by your administrator.

If you do not select search preference options, your search results include only base, or original, documents.

Note: When you access a case for the first time, or when you reset your workspace to the case default, all search preferences are cleared.

To set search preferences:

On any page in the case, click the user name menu, and then point to Search preferences.

On the submenu, select options:

Threading: Includes threaded documents in the search results.

Note: If an administrator has enabled an assignment that contains threads to open in threaded view, you must select this option for the assignment to appear for you in threaded view.

Note: If you select Threading, you must clear the Renditions check box for threaded search results to appear.

Sources and attachments: Includes source documents and any attachments in the search results.

Renditions: Includes only renditions of original documents in the search results. For example, you can search for documents by Bates number.

Line numbers: Includes line numbers in the List pane.

To save the preferences, click outside of the submenu.

Note: You can also select the Threading, Sources and attachments, Renditions, and Line numbers check boxes on the Search page. The check boxes automatically synchronize with the selections on the Search preferences submenu.
