Upload files for ingestion
Use the Upload button to select data locally for importing into the application.
Important: Data must be in an archive file in a .zip, .rar, .7z, .tar, or tar.gz format. You can also upload multipart archive files if the files are in the .zip or .rar format.
To upload files for ingestion:
On the Case Home page, under Manage Documents, click Ingestions.
Click Upload.
The Upload files dialog box appears.
If Aspera fast file transfer integration is enabled, select Use Aspera for faster data transfer. This option does not appear if integration with Aspera is not configured and enabled.
Note: If you select this option, and the required plug-in is not installed on your computer, a dialog box appears with instructions and a link to the Aspera Connect download page. After installing the plug-in, you must close and re-open your browser.
Under File source, click Browse to select the archive file.
If a password is needed to unzip the contents of the file, select the The file is password protected check box. In the Password box, type the password. When the upload is finished, the password is used to extract the archive.
In the File repository list, select the file repository to upload the data to. This list contains the file transfer repositories configured for your case.
In the Folder Structure area, select from the following:
To upload and extract the files to the pre-determined folder structure, select Use the structure inside the archive file.
Note: The file must contain folders that match the displayed folder structure. You can change the folder structure for uploading data using the Default Settings window. For more information, see Configure default ingestion settings.
To upload and extract the files to an existing folder, select Add files to an existing folder. Select the folder name from the list that appears. Then, select Replace, Rename, or Skip to specify what the application should do to a file if another file in that folder has the same file name.
Note: If the name of a file or folder already exists in the destination directory and you select the Rename option for extraction, the application adds a numerical suffix to the name and does not overwrite any existing data. If you select Replace, the existing file is overwritten. If you select Skip, the file from the uploaded archive will not be copied.
To upload and extract the files to a new folder structure, leave the default selection of Create a new folder structure, and type the name of the folders in the boxes that appear.
Note: You can change the folder structure options using the Default Settings window. For more information, see Configure default ingestion settings.
To start the ingestions job automatically after the file upload is finished, in the Options area, select the Start ingestion with default settings when upload completes check box.
Click Save.
The application extracts the files from the archive and deletes the archive.
